Inspired by my two kids, Notes by Nanette was founded in 2002 in New York City and came about after I had trouble finding a birth announcement and personalized stationery selection that were truly unique. A former entertainment lawyer by trade, I have always loved everything paper, beautiful notes, beautiful calligraphy, the handwritten touch.

After the birth of my two children, I founded this company as a labor of love, a word-of-mouth business selling special cards and stationery that make a human connection in a world dominated by e-mail, fax and text messaging.

I searched for a diverse collection of invitations, notecards, birth announcements and more. I am not married to one particular style. I love it all – old, new, letterpress, engraved, printed, thermographed, and colored paper. My store is an eclectic collection of all these pieces.

I truly enjoy working with clients to pick the perfect wedding invitation, birth announcement, birthday invitation, thank you note or moving card that reflects their event and lifestyle. Clients come to me when planning a happy occasion, and it is exciting for me to be a part of the creative process.

The gift section of my website came about as an extension of my personalized stationery business and was developed with my children in mind. They are my testing team for trying out new children’s accessories and gifts and I love searching for new products out there that are truly unique, fun, and useful and that kids (and grown-ups too) will love.

This website is a way to reach out to those beyond New York City, and even to those in New York City, who want the luxury of looking through my collection in the comfort of their pajamas. This site is by no means all the designs we carry. There are many more, but some are so exclusive that their designers do not want them shown online.
